The Everyday Sexism Project

I came across this TEDx talk thanks to fellow blogger veronicalafata who shared it on her blog.  The video is eye-opening, infuriating, hopeful, and empowering all at the same time. I urge you to watch and to visit the Everyday Sexism Projects’ website.  On the website, individuals have the opportunity to anonymously submit their stories of everyday sexism.  Buzzfeed also recently posted an article of 8 stories of everyday sexism experienced by female journalists.  It is definitely worth the read!

We would love to hear your stories of everyday sexism — both women and men!  If you have experienced anything like this and feel comfortable sharing, feel free to tell your stories in the comment box below.

Hopefully by speaking up and revealing these injustices for what they are, we can encourage others who have had similar experiences and make it clear to society that sexism in any form is unacceptable.

  1. Thanks for sharing this. It’s good to be aware of how subtle and insidious and daily sexism can be so we can respond and react accordingly rather than accepting it as the status quo.
